Maj. Gen. Kobi Barak

Kobi Barak enlisted to the IDF in 1982 and spent most of his military career in the IDF Armored Corps, where he held numerous command positions.
In January 2010, Barak was appointed as Head of the Operations Division within the IDF Operations Directorate. In March 2012, he was promoted to a major
general and appointed as Head of the IDF Technological and Logistics Directorate.
On December 20, 2015, former Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon approved the decision of IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot to appoint Maj. Gen. Kobi Barak as Commander of the GOC Army Headquarters. He assumed the position on July 28, 2016
